Getting Started

Getting Started at ARMA Courses

Joining ARMA Courses involves lots of details, big tasks, learning your role, meeting colleagues, all while working remotely. Your team, manager, ARMA buddy, ops buddy, and HR are here to help as you navigate your first days and weeks.

First Few Days

Before starting, HR will order any laptop, accessories, or office equipment you need for your role. Choose specs suited to your work.

A day or two before your start date, your manager will email instructions for day one. They'll be your main contact for early projects and activities.

You'll also work with our ops team to set up necessary accounts. On day one, you'll get a Basecamp project for onboarding with checklists for the accounts and services you need. Your buddy and manager will work through their own lists to help you get set up and answer questions.

To keep devices secure, we manage all Macs through various tools.

Your welcome project will contain training schedules, docs with technical links, videos, key Basecamp projects, and people to meet:

  • Your manager, to schedule 1:1s and review onboarding.

  • Your team. Most teams have a weekly call you'll join.

  • Your ARMA buddy, an experienced team member outside your group, who can advise and check in periodically during your first months.

  • HR, to review policies, benefits, and compensation.

Once your environment's set up, expectations are clear, and you've made connections, you'll start real work! With ample support, you'll begin contributing within your first week. Over 3 months, your responsibilities and impact will increase as you gain confidence and knowledge.
